Neutrogena Visibly Clear Oil Free Moisturiser Review

Posted on 07:03 by tripal h

My Problem Area: Oily Skin, and breakouts
What I was looking for: For some time I've been using a Nivea moisturiser that came free with my subscription to Psychologies magazine. And I think that I had this huge misconception, that just because the product would normally be expensive to buy, then it must be brilliant. However, it's really not been good for my skin! I don't care that the product has SPF 15, or is anti-aging, because I know that prevention is better than the cure, but the moisturiser just does not make my skin feel good.
I don't know if it's because I have oily skin, but the moisturiser never seemed to absorb well into my skin; often feeling kind of sticky, especially underneath my foundation. It also felt heavy on my skin, and I didn't like it at all. I've always been a little "should I be using moisturiser?" because of my oily skin, but so many experts told me I should! After I bought the oil-free foundation, I wondered if it was possible to buy an oil free moisturiser, and was over the moon to discover that there is!
Why I Chose the Range: I am always sceptical about trying out a new product, because I've become well aware that a lot of companies claims to have created the miracle cure to something, but it's actually nothing special. With that in mind, I headed to the Boots website and checked out all the product reviews.
Out of the ten reviews for this product, 100% gave it full marks of five out of five stars, so the moisturiser had to bedoing something right! And the comments seemed to match exactly what I was looking for...
"doesn't feed your spots like all other moisturisers do."
"I have oily skin prone to lots of breakouts..this stuff drys out and reduces spots and spot scars..."
So, I was left satisfied that this product was worth trying out,and at a meagre £3.79, it wasn't going to break the bank either.
How it Works: How does any moisturiser work? After cleansing and toning, you rub a small amount all over your face. Simple. The great thing is that a small amount of this product really does go a long way, so even though I'm intending touse it twice a day (morning and evening), I am quite confident that it is going to last me a while!
Did it sort out my problem areas: I haven't been using the product for long enough, to really judge. However, after the moisturiser has had time to absorb into my skin, I have noticed that it has actually been absorbed, and my skin doesn't feel sticky because of the moisturiser anymore.
Any Downsides? There's nothing majorly wrong with this moisturiser. However, I'm not too keen on the smell! I can't quite describe it, but for some reason, especially when I'm actually putting the moisturiser on, I really dislike the smell! But, it's nothing so bad that I don't want to use it any more.
Who is this product for? This is so light, and it doesn't clog pores, so it is perfect for anyone who is prone to breakouts. And, because it is oil free,it is always brilliant for anyone with oily skin. But, that doesn't mean that it will dry your skin out, even if you have dry skin.
